MFL - Mustard? That's gotta be a little tough in Brat-land. At least you didn't say cheese curds. The Dairy Police would be on you so fast we'd never hear from you again.

Tongue? I thought this was a poll about things people should like???

            offal is awful
plain old hot coffee. I love coffee ice creams and sweets. I like some some dessert coffees. Love the smell of coffee brewing. Hate the taste of plain old java, even with cream.

            Beer

Raw onions, with the exception of scallions.

wax beans or wax peppers. The names are apt.

venison or game period. Do like cornish game hens. Not liking game in this state is a cardinal sin.

sweets laced with coconut, unless it's toasted coconut like a Zagnut bar.

            Brazil nuts

Doritos style corn chips with the exception of the Black Pepper ones and the Lime tostitos.

            Squid or Octopus.....pfooey

Sea food of any type. I've tried many different kinds for different health reasons, but it just isn't happening.

Raw cucumbers. I love pickles, but all I have to do is smell a raw cuke, and my stomach turns over. I don't even have to taste it.

Does anyone think these tastes run in families? Across generations? As children, my sister would not eat anything which contained onion. She would pick through dishes looking for any small scrap. Now my youngest daughter does the same thing. Very odd behavior to someone like me, who puts onions on peanut butter sandwiches.

                Love mushrooms.

HATE goat cheese...tastes like a goat smells, but since I like a lot of other strong cheeses I thought I might like it...WRONG!

Don't like the smell or taste of cooked salmon but I love raw salmon (sashimi).

Cakes made from boxed mixes...they always have a gross chemical taste. And canned frosting. It takes just a tiny bit more effort to make your own and it tastes so much better.

BEER. Can't stand the taste, never could. My beer drinking friends think it's odd that I prefer wine (or a mixed drink).

You know what I hate beer too! Unless I am really really thirsty, it takes me hours to drink a glass of beer.

Caviar. I married into a family that owned a high-end caviar import business in NYC. One of the wedding gifts was several pounds of Royal Beluga to be served at our wedding reception. I had never tasted caviar before, so when someone told me this was just about the finest caviar I would ever get near, I figured this was a perfect opportunity to try it. Just my luck that the videographer caught that precious moment on film...the lovely bride spitting caviar into a napkin and making that face that a 6 year old would when you tell them that someday they'll actually like the opposite sex.

Supposed to be oh so healthy and I guess they are, they just taste bland at best.

Mmmm, sardines- yum! Only in olive oil, though. I've never done anything creative with them, just eat 'em straight outta the can.

cmarie- you can at least still get the probiotics that come in yogurt in supplement (pill) form. Try that, if you haven't already.

While living in HI, I was able to try really good, fresh sushi and sashimi...blech. I can not understand why people love this stuff. In fact, I really don't like any raw meats at all.

I don't like coffee. It smells great, but I can't abide the taste.

I HATE and DESPISE and ABHORE hot dogs. Can't even stand to look at a package of them, and would sooner stab myself with something sharp than actually cook them. Obviously, nutritionally, I'm not missing out by avoiding them, but it does seem strange, as I am a junk food junkie and like most foods that aren't good for me! Come to think of it, I don't really like any "tubular" meat products...sausage, hotdogs, pepperoni (I can eat a little of that on pizza, but I don't really like it)...on sort of the same note, I can't abide bologna, salami...any of that kind of stuff.

Chewing gum absolutely disgusts me. Stick, rubbery...gross!

Oh, and tuna noodle casserole is vomitlicious. I want my tuna cold, on bread, thank you!

I hate plain tomatoes in any way, shape, or form - chopped, sliced, diced, etc. I can handle tomato sauce, salsa, and ketchup, but that's it. I never understood the whole "grilled cheese and tomato soup" combination. I'd rather have chicken noodle.

I also don't like seafood and I think I should, because EVERYONE that I know likes seafood. Crabs, lobster, shrimp, salmon, swordfish, tuna, clams, on and on - I don't like any of it at all. I hate the smell and I don't like the taste. I have a theory that the only reason everyone likes seafood is because a majority of it is either (a) fried, or (b) dunked in butter or other seasonings which masks the flavor. I don't know why people eat the stuff.

I just made beef stroganoff, I made it well, tasted like it should...but I guess I've decided I just don't like it for some reason. I mean whats not to like? Anyone else have foods like that?

I had even taken pics as I was going to do a write up, but after eating it I was just sort of blahh, what ever.

Years ago, I made Beef Stroganoff, and everything looked fine until I had to add the sour cream. That turned it into IMO an inedible mess. Never have tried it again.

I wish I were like this! Just the opposite -love my sweeties!

OTOH, foods that are good for you that I hate:

green beans - They taste like grass to me. Or what I imagine grass tastes like. Mom tried to get me to eat them at the Chinese restaurant once. Hmmm...spicy grass.

                                              Blueberries - it's a texture thing

                                                Hello All,
I wish with a passion that I loved fish or any seafood. The smell alone makes me ill.
Onions, green peppers, and garlic, ahhh, my wife loves them and I have a problem digesting them.
Milk, again it destroys my stomach. Chocolate milk tastes so good, but .....
Any green food, except lettuce, green beans, and broccoli. Avocadoes are sorta green, but I
                                                love them.
I have more. I am so tired of myself for being a picky eater.
I have found that at times I can eat certain foods, then at another stage of life I could.
The mind and body are always changing and evolving.
Who knows...one day I may eat a raw onion.
                                                Take Care,

I am the ONLY person in my family who doesn't like creamed chipped beef on toast. When I go home, everyone's happily eating it for breakfast, I turn green and run away.

I also don't like blue Sweetarts.

                                                    SUMMER SQUASH!

It's OK if you grate it up and hide it in "bread"
but the way it comes to the table in most restaurants all limp in big chunks, disgusting and mushy.......AAARGGHHHH

cmarie- you can at least still get the probiotics that come in yogurt in supplement (pill) form. Try that, if you haven't already.

Salmon - I know it's absurdly healthy, but I just can't develop a taste for it, no matter how hard I try.

Roast Beef - Looks delicious, but I have yet to try any that I can actually say I like.

Hot dogs - I guess I can't actually say I don't like them, but I won't go out of my way for them. The bun always overpowers the dog, and if you eat it without the bun, the toppings won't stay on.

Beer - I can't say I "should" like it, but I just can't stand the taste of it. Oddly enough, I love the smell of it on my husband's breath after he's had one, but I just can't bring myself to drink it.

Raw clams and oysters - my parents used to live for the times they could get these in the summer. Every year they would talk me into trying one, and if I was lucky if I could choke down even one. Sorry, they just make me gag. I guess it's a texture thing.

The only time I can eat raw tomatoes if they're fresh from the garden and in a toasted tomato sandwich. And even then I load them up with salt and pepper and cheese and broil them. I could probably make the whole sandwich without the tomatoes and wouldn't know the difference.
