I'm leaving room for you to add to my list if you want to, but I really like:

The Mantis (tm) mini rototiller. It looks like a toy, and I had low expectations, but I have learned to love it. I have been a Troy Built (tm) fan for years, but the Mantis is far more tiller for the $$$.

Netflix. They have competition now, but they have the advantage of a very large library. Thanks to Netflix (tm) I was finally able to see the conclusion of "The Prisoner", an obscure British import tv show from the 60s. I've been able to see old classics like "A Man for All Seasons", and "Sky King" (Why did I like THAT one?). I also watched "Branded". "Branded" does not age well, but the opening still ranks up there as one of the all time great scenes in TV or movies. Speaking of scenes, I was able to take out "7 Samurai", and look again at what has been called the "greatest 3 seconds ever filmed".

Perillo Tours. They have a narrow product line, but what a job they do.

"Wave" (tm) petunias. Expensive, and worth it. One plant will give you more flowers than a 6 pack of regular petunias.

Dove (tm) products. I'm not surprised that they are really hurting Hershey.

What can you add?
Todd

I'll second the netflix love. I watched Panic In The Streets (excellent) and The Spirit of the Beehive (very good) yesterday. I love netflix.

Just curious, Todd, which three seconds in Seven Samurai are you talking about? That's such a fantastic movie.

Disclosure....I am no movie expert, and have not seen the movie in over a year. I was just repeating what I have heard. That said, when I tell you the scene, I'll bet that you remember it, and I guess that is proof enough.

Anyway, near the beginning of the film, when the timid villagers are looking for samurai, they see one walking down the road. The samurai, in a closeup sort of "glares" at them. He is not hired, never speaks and is not seen in the movie again, but that is "the" scene. According to the commentary that came with the Netflix rental, that scene was filmed again and again to get it perfect.

It's been many years since I've seen it but I sort of remember that scene. Don't think I'd call it the greatest three seconds ever filmed though.

Have you seen many other Kurosawa films? I love him. There's a scene in Ikiru that may be the greatest 3 seconds ever filmed.

I will echo the Netflix. I can indulge my love for documentaries, subtitles and obscure titles to my hearts content without subjecting the whole family to it.

My sergers and sewing machines....not only do they serve a useful purpose but they tie into another love...

FABRIC! All colors, all types. The imagination can run wild with the possible combinations and projects.

iPods. How in the world did I live without one for so long? I use it daily. I can indulge myself in podcasts about sewing without everyone having to listen.

My SLR camera. I can capture all the moments that will soon just be memories of my children. Plus let our parents, who are far away, see them grow up too.

I'll take this in a slightly different direction and showcase a few local products I LOVE:

Raw goat milk and frest goat kefir from a local farm near Elgin, TX. I buy from them every week. (They don't have a website.)

Fresh eggs laid by free-range chickens from Kevin Roberts near Elgin.
              http://www.foodyoucantrust.com/

Grass-fed, grass-finished beef from Betsy Ross Farm near Granger, TX.
              http://www.rossfarm.com/index.html

Fantastic fresh, organic produce from Boggy Creek Farm in Austin.
              http://www.boggycreekfarm.com/

A couple of things I love to get mailorder:

I love these soaps I've started buying from the Grain & Salt Society.
              http://www.celticseasalt.com/Celtic_Sea_Salt_reg_Brand_Soa_C147.cfm

This chemical-free, coconut oil shampoo from the Cal Ben Soap Company is wonderful. (You can buy smaller bottles than the gallon they use for display.)

I am in a serious relationship with TiVo. In fact, it just recorded The Spirit of the Beehive for me...what a coincidence.

                English:

Heinz Baked beans (the turquoise tin). You can get it at Cost Plus. I eat them with eggs. Yum!

Lyle's Golden Syrup...for pouring over fried bread.

Trippy potato chips like Thai lime and chili

                Girly Stuff:

Splash banana split soap. Makes your skin so soft, and smells so good.

Clinique pore minimizer...like face spackle. Unbelievable.

Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue perfume

XM Satellite radio - my listening choices in my truck are no longer between top 40, country & Jesus.

                      Ditto on iPod and NetFlix.

I agree with XM Radio and Netflix for sure!

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (except for the little crumbles)

Tiki torches - adds a party atmosphere to the back yard and actually throws off some good light!

This one has to be at the top of my list. It has allowed ME to become the master of my tv viewing schedule.

SET IT AND FORGET IT ROTISSERIE
Take a chicken, stuff a punctured lemon and some garlic in its butt, put some garlic and butter under the skin, and you have a delicious chicken dinner in under an hour.

                            NASAL SPRAY
This lets me breathe through my nose without taking those pills that run my blood pressure up.

tmiles: I love the WAVE petunias also. The last two years I cheated and bought Wal-Mart knock offs that worked just as good for half the price. I forget the name, might have been trailing petunia. Not much work for loads and loads of flowers!

Another thing I LOVE is homemade shea butter products that I get on eBay. A minimum of ingredients (all natural) mostly shea butter, calendula oil and essential oils for fragrance. My skin has never looked and felt better.

JB Weld, an epoxy mix that will fix "it" when nothing else can.

Aloa Vera in a tube kept in the fridge for burns in every kitchen I work. It really does take out the burn if you've never tried it!.

Juicy Juice. Mmmm! Their new juice product have carrot and sweet potatoe puree in them and are very tasty.

Reciprocating saws of any pedigree. You can't appreciate not having one until you do.

Prilosec (or Nexium or any med in the same family), a true miracle cure! Everything else is snake oil.

Dura Lube engine additive. I can tell the difference in how my engines run when I use it and especially if I stop. More power, a little better mileage and less oil consumption and they run so much smoother.

The Zippo Lighter! If I have to explain you wouldn't understand.

Bufferin, the only pain killer I use. Couldn't function some day's without them.

Levi's jeans and jackets and Dickey T's.

                                                        Durango Farm & Ranch boots.

                                                        Old Chevy's and Volkswagons.

                                                        Bugler.

Louisville Slugger (still have my Johnny Bench, George Foster and Pete Rose models from the Big Red Machine era.) Anything else is just a piece of wood!!

My old Oster blender, food processor, ice cream maker, grinder. I think it has an attachment that walks the dog and gives him a trim too!

These are just a few of my favorite things.

And, I just ordered rubber mulch made from recycled tires (keeps the flower bed moist, doesn't attract termites, can be reused for years, and is a great use for old tires):

The furminator. We used this on our shorthair cat after we used his regular brush and removed enough fur to knit a sweater for a 10 year old, or a bikini for Paris Hilton:
