Grits-N-Gravy Here's an item I made last night. Its Sauteed Shrimp, Onions, bell peppers, with bacon over cheese grits. that's a pretty plate of shrimp and grits ... will you have plain and cheese grits, or just cheese?

yancey.sanford Why would someone waste money on McDonald's? These pictures are making me hungry. lol me too ... I can't figure out how people can spend $6.00+ on a hamburger/fries/drink combo that they pick up at the drive-thru and then complain about lunch costing $9.00 or $10.00 where they are served with ice tea, baskets of bread and expect their lunch to be served in 15 mins or less - if they want fast food, they should stick to the drive thru. It takes longer than 15 minutes to prepare a dinner at home.

Peaches no we don't need no stinking peaches! LMAO No but your right peaches go with BBQ hand in hand. Damn now I'm thinking how to incorperate peaches into my parfait? Actually the parfait didn't last long on my menu. People didn't seam to want all those items in one cup. But it was awesome I promise. The people that tried it loved it. Here is the original And this is a natural at evens when your walking around you can carry it with you and eat it with no mess, unlike my smoked pork sandwich which requires a fork and large hard to balance container. But I agree peaches are a good idea. Maybe a peach BBQ sauce? I just got done tinkering with an orange BBQ sauce and it is awesome. But I'm not serving it yet....maybe never I don't want to end up with 3 or 4 different sauces. People would want to taste this and that and take forever to make up their mind......... god customers are so goofy.

Dr. did you ever try switching things around? say the cole slaw on top, then the pulled pork, BBQ sauce, cheese, then beans, maybe sub. the cheese for croutons or cut up bun ??? dont laugh just thinking. dont know if I would like the cheese on my BBQ. or one i may try soon ( i dont do a BBQ) "pot roast sundae" you could do it with brisket.. rice in the bottom, brisket, a small cherry tomato on top, with a drizzle of BBQ sauce

Buck, The people that tried it loved it. But I had a bunch of those "Oh I don't like my food touching my other food" types. And others with the "I'll try it next week" answer. And just like one poster on here wrote "Well you don't get much pork in it". The drawing is a cartoon or characterization of the food product not a picture! People are so goofy. Of course I grew up in a house where you ate what ever your folks put on your plate and now love spinach, and in fact almost all vegetables. But what the heck, you try some things and they work and others don't. By the way if you made a parfait with brisket your increasing your cost about 25%. And a parfait is a multi layered thing so that's why the numerous layers and finally there is the color part of a parfait that is important. Just a thought or two.

I made these to sell at our neighborhood block party (It's pretty cool, every house sets up a booth and we sell food to each other for dinner. All proceeds go to a local charity). It's marinaded chicken breast, green pepper, and onion wrapped in turkey bacon. Don't get me wrong, I love beef and pork, I was just trying something new!

No problem. Now you may not think I am a "funny" dude when I am sippin Asti Spumante and such when the construction is happening. You might want to also put those pictures in an additional thread (your existing intro) for those who would love to visit you...when you are rollin out. Things can get overlooked at times up here when people cruise through quickly to see what's happening...and that food looks great enough for a nice trip around SLC!!!

I greatly prefer tempeh, seitan and tofu to TVP, myself. For a vegetarian group, years ago, I added liquid smoke to seitan (home-made), and rolled it up and served it as hot dogs (with Chicago-like toppings). Went over pretty well. As for me, I have one of those metabolisms which do very poorly on a vegetarian diet (even a low sugar/low grain one/low fat one). Bart
