I'd be up for a more unofficial non bus hot dog tour of Central/South Jersey if anyone's interested. We could always carpool and caravan from spot to spot.
We would like to know who may be interested.

Looks like we have the making of a Mini Tour

I would be interested depending on my schedule.

I'd be interested depending on the date  (and whether it conflicts with a Giant game)

I'm in.

Hot Dog Tommy's and Maui Hot Dogs are now both closed for the season, so those two can be removed from the possible stop list.

I'm looking at a saturday in March and 6 hot dog joints.

I'll be contacting the vendors shortly and then give the list.

I have a possible 7 people at this time.

I'm hoping they don't move this site to quickly before I get some more interested hotdoggers.

I'd really like to do this. I'll keep checking back to see when the trip is scheduled and when we'd have to commit to coming. But if its for sometime in March, count me in.

I've spoke with the vendors and come up with the date March 13, 2010.

D A Barsch German Butcher Shop

Looks like a good assortment.

Does D A Barsch sell grilled dogs or just fresh?

The date for me should be pretty good.  When I'm at work on Friday I'll reserve the Saturday for the day off and them make a hotel reservation. Should be a pretty good long day. 

I really looking forward to trying the fried dogs and the Italian dogs. And the stop at the German butcher shop.

They did tell me will make hot dogs if you asked and they will have them for tasting on the day of the tour. I'll let you know when I find out more.

Steams their hot dogs but will grill them if requested.

I had a few questions for the owner regarding tweeking my chili recipe.

One was my choice of meat blend.

The second was in the cooking procedure which I tried today with success.

I would urge everyone not to support or post on Roguefood. The guy who owns the site, Larry (Ribs) promised certain posters gifts. This was months ago and most people did not receive them. When I posted about it, he deleted my posts and then kicked me off the site. I believe he was a moderator here.  He is trying to make money off the site. I would urge you to not waste time posting there. Hardly anyone logs onto the site, and I don't like supporting someone who knowingly makes promises he has no intention of keeping. Other people I know have had similar experiences with this guy.

He was. He quit and went to rougefood, then bought it. Rougefood was started by people that didn't like the way things were managed here.

I don't see any info about a March 2010 tour on that Roadfood link above.

It was there, but deleted after I posted.

With a name like Roguefood, I am not surprised no one logs in there. You sort of expect to find stories like this 1998 story, "It's what's for dinner - recalled, contaminated meat usually cooked and re-sold", found at:
