I made a reservation for 5.30 for this Friday.
I made it for 6 people (which I'm sure I can change).
So far, four of us are in.
Anyone else want to join us?

That is really sad. I was looking forward to having whitefish and German pancakes there some time during Pandl's 100th birthday year in 2015. I wonder what will happen to all the beer steins? More important, to the lovely professional staff who have taken such good care of customers for so long??

Michael - be aware this is the Pandl's in Bayside, not the original Jack Pandl's in Whitefish Bay.

Thanks for clarifying that, I was confused.

Just to reiterate what has already been said (and to change the subject heading): Jack Pandl's is NOT closing.  Pandl's, in Bayside, is closing.  They are two different restaurants, owned by different grandsons of the original Jack Pandl.  The Pandl's that is closing was opened in the 1960s and is not a branch of Jack Pandl's of Whitefish Bay, which was opened in 1915.  While I'm sure it's sad news for fans of Pandl's of Bayside, Roadfood fans can breathe a sigh of relief that Jack Pandl's will remain open!

It looks like a synagogue and community center are going into the site:

If you keep us posted, perhaps this can become a Contingent event.  Might even be some Barbecue Sauce in it for you...

The Blue Point oysters were good, and the Crispy Calamari was very good, although the Remoulade dipping sauce was a bit bland.

The Clam Chowder was creamy and mild, with lots of chunks of clams and not overloaded by too many potatoes, the way some restaurants cheap out on their chowder.

I had the Penne Pasta with Leeks, onions, cheese and sauteed shrimp. Very nice, but a huge portion - I took home leftovers.

In honor the the blue-hair reputation, I had a very well-made Brandy Old Fashioned Sweet.

Glad i got to go one last time.

I've only eaten at Jack Pandl's, never Pandl's Bayside. But if you liked the food at Pandl's in Bayside, the same people own Eagan's on Water Street in downtown Milwaukee. I've had some really good food there.
