The 107-year-old establishment wasn’t a culinary destination by any means, but was thick with divey nautical charm.

Somehow I missed this post and news. Sad, just sad. These "Old New York" places are fewer and fewer. I was last in there about 3 months ago. (I worked in the area until I recently retired. I guess they couldn't survive withhout my business.. )

Makes me sad as I walked by there the other day and the space is still available for lease. The landlord could have still been collecting rent if they had let Carmine's stay. Now they've got nuttin'!
