They have the same four Meyer locations (I actually didn't know until recently that they were ALL Danny Meyer) at Citi Field in NY. They are located in an area very similar to where it sounds like they will be stationed in DC. The timing of the announcement is a little curious - you'd think that they would want to maximize revenues by being there when the people are (yes, the Nats will sell out Opening Day, but what will happen if they are not competitive in June?). I wonder if they had been in negotiations to do this for some time and things just came together. Be prepared...if this is a hit (no real pun intended), there will be enormous lines, as there are at Citi Field. I suppose that Shake Shack has a strong NY following, but I would bet that the Danny Meyer press team will be blanketing the area with news of his arrival.

Hey, not only is NYC's Shake Shack coming to Nationals Park but I just drove by their downtown DC location (on my way to lunch at Ben's, suckers) and what a great locale. It's at the confluence of 18th Street, NW, Jefferson Street, NW and Conneccticut Avenue, NW (right above M & 18th Streets). It's a corner store location in what used to be a Fuddruckers. (It's also across from Julia's Empanadas and adjacent to the former [and greatly missed ]Sesto Senso [which, for you old timers, was next to the former Roxy nightclub].) Again, a great, cental and well-trafficed (sp?) location. Their awning and sign are both up and I can't wait for the place's pending opening. Stand-by.

I wonder if it will be like the opening of the In-N-Out in Dallas - three hour waits, mile long lines.... Oh wait....that's standard for the Shake Shack in NY.

BTW, I had meant to post earlier that the Nationals Park outpost of this NYC hot spot is, indeed, OPEN (on the top level above right field and adjacent to some similar Mets-imported food stands). I went to a 25,000-person Nats game recently and the lines for Shake Shack were no more than five or six persons deep. I'm presuming like as is provided for the Mets, the Nationals Park Shake Shack offerings are limited to two burgers (one regular and one, egads, portebello [sp?]) and a flat griddle dog (or some language like that). FYI.

I'm not a mushroom person but from the description of the Good Stuff mushroom burger in that article, I'd totally try one of those. Great forward!
