Wow, Mar.  It actually sounds tasty, but that's a lot of ingredients to have around.  I'd probably just get a green smoothie at Trader Joe's.

Someone appears to have eaten the rest of the enchiladas.  My dinner now is: yogurt, a few pieces of extra-sharp cheddar cheese on Club crackers, an English muffin, and some canned peaches. I want bigos!

After waiting until 8:30 at my folks for a meal that Could have been outstanding (chuck roast, roast potatoes, carrots, turnips)
I knew that it would have at least a 75% probability of failure. Turns out dad's wife got tired of watching it when she was browning and sat down to watch a bit of tv only to return to a thick black crust on the bottom, no worries, it just got a Little dark she says.
So later in go all the veggies to cook in this charcoal stew.
I pronounce that the meal is uneatable. It tastes of charcoal, there are crispy bits of black throughout and it has absolutely no seasoning, she says she forgot to season it, but should still be good.
I declined dinner and went home and had a very satisfying mortadella, salami & provolone sandwich with a diet pepsi.

L2B...  My typical green smoothie is usually just orange, lime, pineapple and spinach.  I was adding stuff that was nearing the end of its life.

Half chicken with 2 sides which were cole slaw and pinto beans.

I ordered the half chicken thinking I'd have left overs for tomorrow.  Wrong!

Aha, Mar--that smoothie ingredient list sounds much more manageable!

I had chicken for dinner, too--honey and spice glazed.  I liked this recipe so much I'm copying it below for anyone interested.

                    Spicy Honey-Brushed Chicken Thighs

One of the most popular Cooking Light chicken recipes, these sweet and spicy grilled chicken thighs are flavored with chili powder, cumin, garlic and cider vinegar.
                    Cooking Light MARCH 2007
Yield: 4 servings (serving size: 2 chicken thighs)

                    Ingredients

2 teaspoons garlic powder (I cut back on this)
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper (I cut back on this)
                    2 teaspoons chili powder
                    1 teaspoon ground cumin
                    1 teaspoon paprika
                    1 teaspoon salt
                    8 skinless, boneless chicken thighs
                    Cooking spray
                    6 tablespoons honey
                    2 teaspoons cider vinegar

                    Preheat broiler.
Combine first 6 ingredients in a large bowl. Add chicken to bowl; toss to coat. Place chicken on a broiler pan coated with cooking spray. Broil chicken 5 minutes on each side.
Combine honey and vinegar in a small bowl, stirring well. Remove chicken from oven; brush 1/4 cup honey mixture on chicken. Broil 1 minute. Remove chicken from oven and turn over. Brush chicken with remaining honey mixture. Broil 1 additional minute or until chicken is done.

Last night I made a French mussel bisque that I saw Ina Garten make on one of her shows over the weekend. I looked up the recipe and realized I only needed mussels to make it. It was really easy to make and delicious!

                              A four-way......CHILI?

Spaghetti (cooked till very soft), Cincinnati chili (which is Greek meat sauce, not chili), chopped onions, and all topped with shredded very mild cheddar-colored cheese. Oh, and of course sprinkled (by me) with hot sauce.

Tonight when I get home from work I'll get to eat the pot roast I put in the oven this afternoon. Assuming my mother managed to pull it out of the oven at the right time and make gravy. Nothing quite like pot roast at midnight.

Last night it was just a couple of hot dogs with Stadium mustard and pickle relish, prepared and consumed at halftime of the Ohio State-Wisconsin game. lleechef made herself some chile-flavored meat and beans, which, I admit was quite tasty (I sneaked a spoonful).

Can I come, too? I'll wash dishes.

Tonight when I get home from work I'll get to eat the pot roast I put in the oven this afternoon. Assuming my mother managed to pull it out of the oven at the right time and make gravy. Nothing quite like pot roast at midnight.

My husband, who is not feeling too well lately said he would love some seafood soup, chowder  or stew for last night. I made a seafood chowder for him. I used cod, fresh clams, scallops and some of the frozen, head on, Gulf shrimp that we had left from what I ordered from Cajun Grocer. It came out so good and "hit" his spot.

OH WOW!  That sounds so much better than chicken soup.

I had a salad accompanied by apple slice sprinkled with Tajin.

(For lunch I had a corned beef sandwich so I was balancing)

Cleaning out the freezer so I defrosted "Manager's Special" pork chops.  That means that they were half price because the sell by date is tomorrow.... or when I bought them.

Mar - I'm always looking up new things I hear about from you.  Today it's Tajin, and it sounds very good!  I can't quite envision it on an apple slice, but I'd try it.

l2b, it's great!  I also sprinkled it on the corn.  Better on the apple.  The citrus and chili team up great with fruit.

                                                        Seafood chowder sounds amazing! I'm sick, too...can I get a to-go order?

Today we had a family birthday party: Grilled chicken with homemade BBQ sauce, steamed broccoli, potato salad, baked beans, skewers with ham-cheddar-green olives, and four kinds of bread (lemon-poppyseed, pistachio, apple, and banana-walnut). And a chocolate/vanilla/cookie crumble ice cream cake for dessert. I took no pictures. Of anything. Including my niece and nephew, whose birthdays we were celebrating.

I wish I could send you some felix! Tonight in keeping with the low carb theme I made him stuffed peppers filled with sausage, onion, garlic, chopped yellow squash and chopped fresh spinach. I sprinkled them with some grated aged cheddar, covered them with foil and baked at 375 for 45 minutes. I then took the foil off and sprinkled them with grated smoked mozzarella. He proclaimed them delicious!

Last night was clean out night:

I was in the mood for some Fette Alfredo, so I made a roux and then added some chicken stock and parm cheese.

I poached 4 chicken breasts in stock with S&P & poultry seasoning.
Cut them into bite size pieces, and added them to the alfredo.

Looked a little one dimensional color wise so I looked in the freezer and ther was a partial bad of corn, another of green beans so I nuked them a little and added them to the alfredo.

Still a little monochromatic, so i opened the cabinet and there was a can of red gold diced tomatoes, so I opened them drained them off and added them also.

All in all what started out as a simple pasta fix ended up being a bowl full of yumminess that has lasted 2 days and the last will be et tonight.
