Nice looking cart you got there...Quite the set up - looks very clean too..How do you cook your dogs ? And what brand do you use ?  Do you serve any specialty dogs ?

PS: Have you thought of wearing a chef's hat ever ?  :-)

No its hot enough here is it is without wearing a chefs hat. maybe a sombrero, thats more my style. So to answer your questions. I use nathans, i currently dont do any specialty dogs. my wife would like to but I like to keep it simple. I model my cart after the in and out burger chain. Keep the menu simple, have the food be high quality and tasty and keep the cart and other equipment spotless. It seems to be working.

Thia was my set up, it has changed a littls since I opened in May. I added a couple more drinks, a chip clip, brown mustard and a hot BBQ sauce. I know this is the hot dog forum but I do sell dogs and sausage.

My set up is similar to yours, with the table and cooler.  I usually serve at my daily spot under a 10 x 10, but use the umbrella when I don't have room.  There are several set ups posted on my fb.

I also have the same hot dog sign. lol

Looks like a good spot! Is that the chicago hot dogger? I just picked one of those up off craigs list. Does your sink drain very slowly? I'm not sure if that's how they are or maybe there is something I can do about it.

Yes, it is a little A.A. Chicago cart.  I have run a wire up the drain hose to clear it.  I get leaves in it.  How do those baked items sell?  I've been considering muffins or small cakes or pies this fall.

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to find a wire coat hanger. Those muffins never sold real well. I ended up eating most of them.

Thank you! Yes it's a Ford E350 cutaway with a Utilimaster body. Was formerly a mobile water testing lab, if you can believe that, so walls and ceiling were done with FRP and fully insulated. After  removing some unneeded cabinets, benches and some other miscellaneous stuff, I installed serving window, sinks, steamers and microwave - not too bad. So far, it's working well, but of course have some tweaks in mind. NOw if it would only STOP RAINING here in NJ (see my newest post)

It looks fantastic. We don't get the snow and Ice down here but we do get a lot of rain. I'm thinking of getting either a covered trailer or a food truck next year. Both my locations are on the downtown streets with no other cover than what my umbrellas can provide. Money is too tight to be at the mercy of the weather.

It is definitely nice to be able to operate and stay dry in wet weather. When I can afford it, I will add an awning over the serving window. That would have been great for the customers this past week. Today it was raining so hard I invited customers inside to get out of the rain while I was serving them.

Just wondering how business is going? Still at it? Types of locations you are currently working?
