Dearfolk,
I've been a few new places since I last wrote in. My favorite is Harry's Pig Shop at 2425 Jefferson Road (Homewood Village Shopping Center) here in Athens. Right now, the special running is this AMAZING ham-and-bean soup that isn't too salty. Yum!
The general bill of fare is barbecue. You can choose from pork, hen, brisket, or tofu. The place also does ribs well, and has a rib special on Tuesdays. The pork is so well done that it doesn't require any sauce, although there are six to choose from (all homemade). They make their own salad dressings, too. And they have good vegetables (which occasionally vary) and barbecue hash.
I'll be back as soon as I have time to post about some places in the Atlanta area that I've uncovered. BTW, I'm doing okay down here in 30601-land.

It's always a pleasure to read what Ort. has to write, and while Harry's is by no means my favorite around Athens, it is certainly good.

Dearfolk,
Harry's has greatly improved since I've taken to going there. Today I ate a pork plate that needed no sauce. The potato salad is excellent, too. BTW, I stand behind what I said about the specials... they're nearly always too good to be true. And it's all right down the road from my house.
