While the outlook appeared grim after flooding last summer had left this classic "permanently closed", it appears there is hope! http://thewilmingtonfundvt.org/2012/03/20/vpr-re-dots-rebuild/ Owners of Dot’s in Wilmington say they will rebuild the iconic restaurant. (Host) There was good news Monday in Wilmington’s storm-damaged business district. The owners of Dot’s, an iconic local eatery, announced plans to rebuild the restaurant – with substantial help from its many friends. They also set up a web site: http://rebuilddots.com/ Go John and Patty! I wish you all the best.

This is very disturbing- not the news- but what just happenned! About 15 minutes ago I was chatting with my coworker about her waffles that she just took out of the toaster in our office lunchroom- I asked if they were whole grain- she replied they werent and sometimes you just have to have them regular- - I mentioned I do when I travel, and noted my favorite pancakes at Dot's but lamented that Dot's was no more. Then I go back to my desk- and find this brand new thread! Wow! I can hear the twilight zone music in the background!

My girlfriend and I drove through Wilmington on Columbus Day (after having Breakfast at the Blue Benn Diner in Bennington) We did walk past Dot's, the building itself looked like it was in really, really poor shape, but there was a guy standing out in front with a huge sign for donations (possibly the owner, I didn't ask) he told me they intend to reopen and be fully operationable by Spring.
