Fifty three? Why, when I was your age I was twice as old.

And everything cost a nickel.

Well, the Roesseler hot dogs were 15-cents at Jimmy's, Turk's, Jake's  and Phylises at Savin Rock.

Speaking of Roessler's, David Roessler was kind enough to have some franks sent down to Jersey yesterday for me and the Hot Dog Tour. I have some in the refrigerator and will be eating some today. The last and only time I had a Roessler's was 10 years ago at Rawley's. They are back! Just started making them. Same recipe, but the first batch is skinless. Next will be natural casing. David is having them made at Zweigle's in Rochester, N.Y.

I can't wait to start eating them again. I used to buy five pound boxes to being back to Ohio whenever we'd make a visit back home to Connecticut. I not only loved eating Roessler's hot dogs, I played football for the company team when I was still in high school -- under a phony name, of course.

Any more mature and I'd be Methuselah.

I just had 2 of them for lunch. Although it's been 10 years, they tasted the way I remembered them. Flavorful and spicier than your typical beef and pork dog. Michael, I think you will find that they taste the same.
