Mexican in South Florida Wed, 10/10/12 8:40 PM (permalink)
Does anyone know of a legit (not chain) Mexican restaurant WPB and South? Moving from Chicago area where there is a ton of real Mexican to South Florida has been a drag Mexican food wise. Have tried a number of joints but nothing like Ashland Avenue back home. Any help?

You might want to try heading to the south end of the county towards Homestead and Florida City.

AJP, chicago born and bred, hit me up if you need to know where chicago stuff is down here, as far as good mexican south east corner of lake worth road and military trail there is tacos al carbon authentic stuff home made and open 24 hours a day, also in the 400 block of north dixie in lake worth is Lupitas, great home made stuff to order, great sauces and outdoor covered seating with tv's and fans

Phil: Thank you for the tip! Will definitely check it out. What else do you recommend down here? We have a decent Greek place called Jimmy's on Glades Road just west of the Turnpike, and places that serve Vienna dogs seem to come and go. Good ethnic is pretty tough to find here.
Dawn: Thank you also. We are up in Boca so exploring Miami and south is a little tough, but we will check things out when we are down that way.

Several Mexican restaurants have opened in East Little Havana and Brickell.

The best I know of is:
Con Sabor A Mexico Carnitas Estilo Michoacan
          542 SW 12th Ave
          Miami, FL 33135
You can find tongue, ears, tripe and all the goodies!
