Potato Leek Soup Sat, 11/17/12 1:49 PM (permalink)
lleechef, sort of bored as I watched THE GAME!!!! (Yale and Harvard for those who are not aware of real football tradition), decided to make potato leek soup. As far as I'm concerned, forget the hot dogs or anything else at halftime.  Give me her potato leek soup. What a treat.

And.......make sure you say an appreciative word to the Chef!  And the words are not........"The Crimson is on the 5 yard line!".  Seriously, Potato Leek soup is so lovely to make......and not really that hard, I"m surprised more folks don't have it more often.  It is also a wonderful base for someone as skilled as lleechef to put her signature touch on it

I love making soup and I love eating it.  At the store the other day I saw leeks that could have been in a picture, they were so beautiful.  So naturally I was inclined to make potato leek soup.  It is definitely one of the simplest soups to make and sooooo good!
Now it's "THE BUCKEYES JUST SCORED!!!!"  So much for the enthusiasm for the soup.

I looked up Alton Brown's recipe & it looked fairly simple...would be interested in how Lleechef makes her version.  From what I've read, hers would be delicious!  Please post Lleechef!!  Judy

I love potato leek soup as well.  I've taken to adding leeks to some soups from time to time.  I hadn't thought of it as a halftime fare but I think I'll have to give it a try.

Lisa is a expert chef.  The potato leek recipe is pretty simple.  I am certain that Lisa has added her artistic touch to this wonderful food.
