mar52 1969 Pontiac Tempest purchased brand new for $3,000. It was a light metallic green and oxidized something awful. It was also a lemon having 3 different engines in it the five years I owned it which is why I had it painted yellow. Did you add the mags yourself, Mar? joerogo ScreamingChicken Excellent choice, Jim. I'd love to own a '63 or '64 Riviera someday. [<font]Funny, I can't really think of an answer to your question. The cars (and trucks) I really like are ones that I was either too young or not enough of a gearhead to notice when they first came out. Oh come on Brad! Hmmm...you're close. I remember when the neighbors' oldest son bought a black '75 Camaro either new or slightly used; it was my first up-close-and-personal experience with that body style so I guess that and the '59 Cadillac would be my answer.

baileysoriginal There have been a few through the years - and I was fortunate to own a some of them but right now the Cadillac CTS VCoupe sends my heart racing - a true thing of beauty. I got a 2013 CTS V Coup at the end of August, Black Diamond, 556 HP, it is a true beast whrn you put the pedal to the metal, handles as good as a Corvette and can outperform most of them.

I clearly remember seeing the 1968 Corvette for the first time, parked at a curb in its bright metallic blue glory. Soon after I saw a Lotus Europa - must have been quite rare then, more so in the middle of Kansas, where it was attracting a crowd. So tiny and so low, it looked not of this earth.

Brad... Added Mag Wheels, Air Shocks, the right hand side mirror and the mud flaps. The department store where I sold coins and candy also had an auto department. How did we ever survive without right hand side mirrors? I was part of the Van Nuys Boulevard car crowd and also did car rallys. Those were the days!

My brother had a Toronado, forgot the year, but it was a beauty. 455 with front wheel drive, this car screamed. The big deal back then was no hump on the floor(FWD). All front end, silver with a black vinyl top. He got rid of it because it was killing him on gas.....at 1970's prices!

I fell in love with the descriptor of the Edsel's vertical 'mouth' Grill referred to as "An Oldsmobile sucking a Lemon" !

MilwFoodlovers I still like the looks of the Avanti. I'll take one with the round headlight lids and a supercharger, please! I was born in 1955 and all the cars I consider milestones of car lust (most of them already mentioned here) were around before I really discovered cars in my early teens...just in time for the 1970 Camaro/Firebird, and the Barracuda/Challenger. These were real-life versions of what my classmates and I were scribbling in our school notebooks! Then there were the Italian supercars of the time, like the Lamborghini Muira ( http://www.totalheadturne..com/details.php?Id=481) and the DeTomaso Mangusta ( http://www.lotusesprittur..._Tomaso_Mangusta.htm). Wouldn't own one even if I could, but Holy Shamoley, just LOOK at them!
