Sad news indeed. One of my favorite stops when I lived in Boston. Their Florentine cannoli still haunts my dreams!

When I lived in Boston my favorite restaurant was The Daily Catch on Hanover St. From there it was always over to Mike's for a cannoli. For me, forget about this cupcake craze. I'll take one of Mike's cannolis any day.

The Florentine cannoli!! I was never a big cannoli fan as I found the shells to be very dry and really just a vehicle for the filling...until I tried this one. Baking an oversized Florentine cookie and rolling it into a cannoli shell is truly inspired and adds a crunchy texture from the nuts and a nice chew from the honey that makes the cookie such a joy to eat. Thanks so much, Mr. Mercogliano. I'll be back soon for more!

billyboy The Florentine cannoli!! I was never a big cannoli fan as I found the shells to be very dry and really just a vehicle for the filling... What is the filling, whipped cream or some type of custard?

Hepcat, I believe they use sweetened ricotta cheese. Happy Holidays!
