The Pie Lady Goes to Newtown. Mon, 12/17/12 4:08 PM (permalink)
Beth Howard, The Pie Lady, who lives in the American Gothic house in Iowa, has hopped in her RV and made it to the East Coast where she and a whole bunch
of volunteers are baking pies for Newtown. Heartwarming story. Follow along.
She's hard at work in Flanders, NJ as we speak.

                An update....

A new crew of bakers just arrived -- Suzi Banks Baum and her daughter Catherine from Great Barrington, Mass. drove here to help. Pat Brunner Gamsby has to leave so she's passing the torch with a pie lesson.

Thank you for your time and hard work. I'm sure any gesture is appreciated by those poor people.

A wonderful gesture by an amazing woman. It brought tears to these old eyes.
