Super Bowl Party

Hi everyone just wanted to hear what you all will be making or serving at your super bowl party. Do you have any menus planned with a theme for your favorite team. I was thinking of doing crab cakes for the Baltimore Ravens. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Most weekends I cook like crazy. Sometimes I make up to four entree's to use all week. So today is take out Sunday for us. Pizza, Tacos and chicken nuggets or strips. Since we are not fans of the two teams playing my kids are having a Wii/PS gaming day or a movie marathon, they haven't decided yet.

Going to a party elsewhere, so I made a trifle from chocolate pound cake, chocolate pudding, whipped cream and chocolate cookie crumbs. I didn't theme it in any way. I was also planning to make Kaepernickel bread, but ran out of time. I have all the ingredients for it, though, and am still going to make it, even if late. :)

OK, I'll bite. What the heck is Kaepernickel bread? I can't even do a Google search for it, as it shows only the results for Pumpernickel bread. I'm not doing anything for the Superbowl this year, unfortunately. I usually head to my bar for our annual potluck party, but the weather is crap and I can't rely on a taxi, so I'm staying home. Edit: Oh, I think I get it. It *is* pumpernickel bread, just renamed for Kaepernick. Right?

I'm making..........a vodka & tonic.........followed by...a Vodka & Tonic......followed by...well, you get the picture! To eat, there's is some very thinly sliced (previously cooked) pork tenderloin that will be heated in marsala wine and garlic, drained and served on a Kaiser roll with Mayo and home-made matchstick fries........All that before Game time. During the Game......the V&T might need refreshing along with my homemade spicy Chex type mix (Cashews and peanuts, Chex of 2 types, Cheerios, Kix, potato sticks, Bugles......red pepper.garlic salt, onion powder, Lawry's, Sriacha, Worcestershire, butter, turmeric)

Right now I have 6 beer-brined chicken wings and 5 Klement's beer brats on the grill and they should be done in 5-10 minutes or so. And in keeping with the program I'm also drinking a beer.

Just made a big container of ceviche with 2 lbs. of fresh red snapper, onion, red bell pepper, garlic, yellow peppers, jalapeños and cilantro. Juice of about 10 limes, 4 lemons, a grapefruit and a navel orange. Salt and pepper too. Now it's resting. Should be ready by the game. The friends that are having the party are having a taco bar and a tequila bar so it should fit right in. Go Niners!

We're at Eating Halftime right now with the leftover wings and brats in the fridge for future consumption. Since the game's still 2 hours away a nap is sounding really good.

It's a good time to start making Sangria. That way I can have ignore the annoying commercials everyone will have to talk about...or have no memory of them.

CCinNJ, the fact that I have already seen most of the commercials online is why I'm not watching it. Oh, yeah right, there's that game too! My kids are playing games using the living room TV so I have The Walking Dead Marathon on my Kindle Fire HD. We had take out pizza, fried calamari from the pizza place, a variety of tacos from Taco Bell and the new nuggets from Burger King. In addition to the Rotel cheese dip and assorted chips I think I'll be ready for bed soon myself!! We have dubbed it Fast Food Sunday!

Hot Italian Grilling Sausage from Atkins Farms, in South Amherst, Massachusetts with ... peppers and onions with a few marinaras from Trader Joe's ... Mini baguettes and some odd new age pasta (quite good actually) I'd have used First and Last Tavern sauce if it weren't a potluck elsewhere ... (that is my secret ingredient when I am serving it at my house).

Not much here, we won't even watch, not football people at all even though long ago the Bears won. We had a party and the Bears won by such a blow out we all got bored, It was so boring we never watched the Super Bowl again. Oh, I forgot, I did get excited when the Saints won. Otherwise football is boring

The Italian sausage Super Bowl pizza I made got eaten before I got my camera out. We were hungry! Satiated, I had time to photograph this pepperoni Super Bowl pizza.

There were a lot of tasty items on the buffet table where I was, but the highlight for me was when these fresh beignets came out:

I'd gladly take one right now!!! I like the idea of including items from the Superbowl host location. Get ready for Italian everything as well as rippers & sliders next year! It'll be in New Jersey.
