Hey Batter Batter Suh-WING Batter MLB 2013 Sat, 02/9/13 11:47 PM (permalink)
That's right folks TUESDAY is OFFICIALLY baseball season!

I am excited my Cubbies are going all the way this year!! All the way to the bottom of the Division since the Stros have now left.

A big WELCOME TO THE BIG LEAGUES to Bryce Brentz who is not been invited to Spring Training witht he Red Sox, Why you might ask since he is their #1 prospect?  Cause the man is an idiot and treated his gun like it was UNLOADED, and shot himself in the durn fool's leg.  On the good side the bullet went through and through and he should be back to 100% before Spring Training is done.  D-OH!!!

I love spring training, growing up on a warm spring day, laying out on the grass, listening to Marty & Joe on REDS radio (We could only get WGN on crystal clear nights).  The smell of Spring, the crackle of the static interference, the hizz of the AM radio.  The crack of the bat, the cheer in the air, Ahhhhhh BASEBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a Rangers fan, I'll certainly miss Josh Hamilton's bat and wall-drashing catches  --  but not the constant "drama".  God Blessed him with as much natural baseball talent as Mickey Mantle, Sandy Koufax, "Junior", or Barry Bonds.  He's a good kid for whom I wish nothing but the best, including the Greatest Gift of all:  Peace.

Predictions:  unless there is another Trout (or two) in their minor league talent "stream", the Angels will fail yet again to buy even an American League West title.  King Albert's bat has slowed with $250,000,000 left on his contract.  Yikes!

They need look no further than the Yankees - who will be lucky this year to finish third in their dividion - to see their grim future.

Baseball for me returned this morning with the return of Ed Randall's Sunday Morning show, Talking Baseball, on WFAN radio.

Chceck out the eclectic list of guests on his most recnet shows, from last season. I think all are still available on podcast, or you can listen live each Sunday at 9AM EST.

After years of being a minor league team with the Marlins, the Royals and the Okland A's, our local minor league team, Kane County Cougars,  is now associated with the Cubs. Considering they are located 35 miles west of Chicago in Geneva Illinois and directly on the commuter line, it's been a logical connect for ages. Considering the Cougars have been a huge draw each year, connecting with the Cubs should be a good deal with them both.
