Why anyone would want to go to a McDonald's for falafel in Israel is beyond me. Tons of places around that make it fresh. More than a few carts, too. I used to love getting a pita loaded with it and sauced up with Tahini. Shoot, when I lived in Israel they didn't even have McDonald's. They did have McDavid's, tho. Lots of lawsuits over that one. Didn't stop them, tho. Of course you couldn't get a cheeseburger....

Felix is right, but there's also the 'I'm not adventurous' factor. Many people are scared to try street vendor food, or anything with which they aren't familiar. Last trip to New Orlean's we walked past a TGI Friday's in/near the French Quarter I didn't know was there. It was packed.

I would probably not order falafel at Mcdonalds, but they do sell things that appeal to the public in their area. I was happily surprised at the biscuits and gravy sold in the southern Mcdonalds...

Once, when I was living in Kansas City, I suggested a Middle Eastern place to my coworkers for a team lunch. This was a novel suggestion since 99% of the time they'd pick an Applebee's-type place or BBQ. Out of the two dozen or so people that went, four of them were so scared that they opted for burritos instead. Bought them from a place next door and then joined the rest of us. *sigh*
