JUST STARTING OUT

Im just startng out in Ohio i never seen any hotdog cart busiesses in my area i have a few locatons to start out with but i have a few bumps in my road and those who gave me advice i want to thank you but i stll have more questions and when i cross that road i will post but my question now is what business structure would you use  for a hotdog cart business  i'm thinking a llc

Why don't you folks cut people some slack. Perhaps someone had a hard life and didn't do very well in school. They still have feelings and are asking for help. Isn't that what we're here for to help one another out, not to criticize their typing ability. 
There are way too many people that are quick to jump on new ones posting. Grow up, you sound like a bunch of prissy college pricks. You know who you are. If the shoe fits, wear it! 

It's not typing "skills", it's lack of effort. To me, it indicates laziness and disrespect to the reader. Improper punctuation can change the meaning of a sentence.
Example......
"You wanna eat, Fluffy?".......or
"You wanna eat Fluffy?"
One is pleasant, the other is horrific.

Brick...... Here you are again jumping in to save someone, making assumptions on the guys quality of life and schooling. Everyone deserves a trophy.
As JC stated, it's laziness, then in another post the op blames the device that he's on, I post on my phone a lot of the time, I can still form a basic sentence.
And as far as being one of those "Prissy College Pricks", I never made it past High School, but most of the time I know where the periods and commas go.

Chefbuba you don't know me and i don't know you . The net gives you guys a ways to pick on ppl. You are a bully and you find ways to pick on ppl because you bored or whatever it is you or anyone else calls it. Learn to let go of things you don't have control of. It's how you say things don't jump on ppl case. Yea it might be laziness or not but you don't have to post or help. The fact is you can't please everybody and if you can't answer the post please let someone else do it.

I guess punctuation is more important than common courtesy on this forum about hot dogs.

brickboo i'm a member of hotdogprofts. I'm just trying to see what's on other  ppls minds and i see how they do things on this site. They maybe business men but class they lack. I had a business for 20 years and i did real well this is something new i'm trying out plus i have a bbq team . I don't see how some ppl stay in business long but it's cool . brickboo thank you and everyone who has helped me. And those who felt like my tying was more important  thank you too . So what business structure would you use for a hotdog cart business?

Mr. Rick, I can appreciate the difficulty in typing on some of these devices. I just got an iPhone and hate typing on it.
Understand how a first time poster whose entire post is one sentence can irritate some. Barely readable. Think about first impressions. Your second post didn't help.
To answer your question, you need to provide more info. If you are running your biz by yourself, I would go "sole propieter" (sp). If you have enough insurance, you should be OK. If you have a lot of assets that you could lose, LLC may be better. SP is free, LLC is not. But actually this is not the place to ask. Ask an LLC provider to explain the differences.
 
And, two things are always capitalized. The I in I, and the G in God.

I have been on this forum for several years, have openly shared my knowledge from 30+ years in this business to many that have come here.
They did their homework, searched the forums for answers before asking questions. They weren't smart asses.
If you were in business for 20 years, you would not be asking what type of business structure you should have for your hot dog cart, you would already know the answer to that, and you sure as hell should not be asking a hot dog forum about it, that is a question for your accountant and or attorney.

With A hot dog cart you only need a "DOME" bookkeeping book from Target, Walmart, Kmart etc. Anything else is over kill for one hot dog cart selling 100 to 500 hot dogs a week.
 
If you ever get 20 carts, you may need an Attorney or an Accountant, but it still wouldn't be an absolute necessary unless you're an idiot or a dip-spit whatever that means. Ha ha!
 
I was in the construction business for 40 years hired hundreds and fired hundreds probably over that time. Very few people I know, maybe a couple of the large suppliers that I bought from had Accountants and or an Attorney on retainer.
 
I don't think hot dog vendors for the most part can afford to have a lawyer on the payroll. It's possible though that they may have a wife or a neighbor down the street for a few bucks a month to help with keeping track of the money.
 
Folks get a "Dome" book from Target, buy a hot dog cart and you're in business. Oh get a Health Dept permit, a State license and permission from someone where you want to set up your cart and you are in business. You are a hot dog Slinger who is self employed.
