I keep a 4 of Publix's tomato and a can or two of their cream of chicken for cooking. I don't know what happend at Campbell's over the years, but by the 90's, the soups started to taste very different and thinner in condensed form.

During the late 80's and to mid 90's, they had a wonderful Basil tomato soup which was replaced with an Italian Tomato Basil and Oregano. Both were part of my meatloaf recipe. Both long gone.  I use either Publix or Winn Dixie's regular tomato soup that taste more like Campbell's used to. I only use the generic cream of chicken in the classic green bean casserole b/c my kids and now my spouse hate the thought of eating cream of mushroom as called for in the original recipe.

I've always loved Campbell's Bean with Bacon, Split Pea with Ham, and Chicken Noodle (great for what ails you!).  I also use the Cream of Chicken and Cream of Mushroom as bases for different dishes.  As for the Tomato, I enjoy adding basil, oregano, and mozzarella to make it "italian" tasting.  The Chunky brand Chicken Corn Chowder is also very good.

I'm also a fan of Campbell's bean & bacon soup but mostly I keep some cans of Progresso on hand for a quick meal; I enjoy the lentil soup.

Healthy Choice bean & ham soup is surprisingly good for what it is.

Unlike lleechef I love some canned soups. Campbell's tomato soup is a big favorite. I use milk in place of water when heating it. I also like Campbell's chicken rice soup. I used to love Snow's clam chowder, but they've messed with the recipe and it's nowhere near as good as it used to be.

And the good news is, Kroger is offering Chef Boyardee at ten for ten dollars.

Michael, we do the same thng at home w/ Campbell's Tomato Soup, plus a couple pats of butter. Quite tasty.
Then add a toasted cheese sandwich to that, heaven.

Campbell's Bean and Bacon is delicious. My grandparents liked to make it with a can of V8 instead of water and I do the same thing. Tasty!

Based on the posts in this thread I've come to the conclusion that bacon and ham make things better.

Also a fan of Campbell's Bean with Bacon. Wegmans also does a version that is just as good, for almost a buck less per can. I have a can in my desk to have for lunch today.

                  My favorite canned soups:
                  Pepper Pot
                  Scotch Broth
                  Both by Campbell's
                  Sadly, both discontinued.

Or Scotch tape or Scotch Plaid Trading Stamps. Think it became only Plaid later on for reasons below. You no longer hear the pejorative of someone or something being "Scotch" as a term for being frugal or cheap. The McFrugal's chain caught a lot of hell over that. It's the original reason that 3M named their adhesive tape and even Studabaker had a Scottsman vehicle that was their stripped-down budget vehicle.
BTW, Campbell's and Heinz still make the soups. Campbell's only sells it in Canada and the Heinz I think is limited to the Euro market now.

we keep a few cans of Wegmans Cream of Chicken soup and Tomato soup in the pantry.  Oh yeah theres a can of cheddar cheese soup there too. I was fgoing to use it for something...
Hubbby thinks canned C of C soup is  a cure all for anything that ails him and the kids can't eat grilled cheese sandwiches without the tomato soup to dunk them in, but otherwise I make  the soup here. (Last night was chicken and dumplings.)
