Concession trailer Hood choice Mon, 04/22/13 3:07 PM (permalink)
I'm looking for a hood for my 20' concession trailer. I had a quote from a company but seemed awefully cheap($2000 for 10' hood n fan). It is a low profile hood that could mount lower to the cooking surface.( not a fan). Anyone will any experience or recommendation s I would greatly appreciate it

    2K for a 10' seems pretty good.

That's a good price from what I've seen.  10' hood and fan from the cheapest place I found runs around $2200 PLUS shipping.

Do you have any companies or hoods you recommend from experience?

Hood Mart is good, Captive Air is probably the best, A City Discount has some good units.  Most of the good quality, name brands are about what you've been quoted...they just go up from there depending on fan options, stainless/aluminum mix, etc.

2k is a very solid price for a good hood with fan.  Jump on it!

I have a Captive Air and a Superior.  At least from the units I have the Captive Air is a notch above in quality and construction.

I found a local dealer who quoted me a Captive Air within 10% of the Superior price. I bought the Superior because it did not have the 3" back space ( required in some places but I did not want it) and the front lip was smaller.
