     Outstanding report ! Now you understand why the Glee Club has selected Mobile, AL a couple of times for it's Winter Meet-n-Eat !!

    We really enjoy meeting at both the Brick Pit and Wintzell's Oyster House....plus a number of other  great places to eat in that super town.

        @Mayor Al/Glenn/Mikeam-  Thank you!
        Mobile is definitely a place I would return to.  Those oysters and that BBQ were outstanding!  Friendly folks all throughout Alabama too.  I definitely enjoyed myself.

            I'm so glad you enjoyed Payne's BBQ as much as I did. Truly the best Memphis style pulled pork sandwich I've ever had.   We made the mistake of going to the imposter  a few years back. Thankfully they're now out of business..
            Flora  is such a sweet lady...

              Wanderingjew- Amen!  Paynes is without a doubt my favorite BBQ item in the World!  When I experienced it for the first time 5 years ago, I knew it was perfection.  It was confirmed again a few weeks ago.  Ive had 2 buddies that have driven cross country within the last few years.  They both stopped in Memphis per my recommendation for a Paynes BBQ sandwich.  They thought it was the greatest thing they ever tasted too!  Flora is super sweet and looks FANTASTIC too.  Hopefully she keeps making BBQ for many years to come.  I need to stop writing and thinking about it...I just ate dinner but Im getting hungry just talking about that sandwich ;-)

                  Strongy78, this report is phenomenal.  You covered a tremendous amount of great RF in two weeks -- and I shall add Payne's to my short list for the Memphis tour in October.  Thanks so much!    Chris

                    strongy78-  great report and pictures.  You certainly hit all the right places in NOLA, (locals' favorites), how did you know where you wanted to go?

                        @Ayersian- Definitely do.  Paynes is the best!

                        @BelleReve- Im a big user/advocate/reviewer of the website that rhymes with "Help"..... ;-).  That, combined with posts from here, and a mix of some TV shows led me to the right places for the most part.

                        @Phlmaestro- Besides Paynes, Brick Pit was my favorite BBQ I have had in years.  It was perfect in every way IMO.

                              Terrific pictures!  I would love to spend LOTS of time in south Alabama - Enterprise, Opp, Andalusia, Dothan - no blogger has covered that area well at all.  Larry's and Hook's both look very interesting.
