We will be staying overnight in Hattiesburg in mid Sept.  Please give us some suggestions for dinner and breakfast-anything but BBQ~

Oh no!  I was so happy to tell you about one of my very favorite bbq parlors of the South, too.  Oh well, I hope you get some good recommendations here and I will try and give it some further thought.

I'm sorry, we just have so much and so many styles of  BBQ here in NC that we get sort of tired of it!!

Oh, I understand perfectly.  The only other place in Hattiesburg that I have eaten at is Mack's Fish Camp and it really wasn't very good.  Just wish I could be more help.  Hopefully, someone will come through with some good suggestions.

There's a great Thai place in Hattiesburg (of all places). It's right near the S. Miss campus. Check it out.

The only one I could think of off the top o my head was
Coney Island Lunch Stand - Located on Main St.
            Good Diner fare

My two favorites in Hattiesburg are Purple Parrot Grill and Crescent City Diner. Both are the babies of Chef Robert St. John. Maybe they are a little more upscale than typical roadfood, but they are both very good.
