I just don't get all the stuff they now sell at ballparks. Hot dogs, peanuts, Cracker Jack, popcorn, soda and beer are the only acceptable and required food and drink at a ballpark. Yes mine is a curmudgeonly view of the way things ought to be. Heck, at PNC Park in Pittsburgh they even have Primanti Brothers. Now I'm a big fan of the sandwiches at Primanti Brothers, but they just should not be at a ballpark -- especially one that gorgeous.

Ha!  I've never had any of those things at AT&T Park.  (1) As a mayo-phobe I don't eat the crazy crab sandwiches; (2) I'm not going to eat beans (Cha Cha Bowl) and sit for three hours watching a game; (3) I don't want to eat healthy at the park; and (4) where the hell is Humphry Slocumbe?  I'll have to find it next season.

One of my favorite park eats are the nachos in field club which I can top with ridiculous amounts of whatever I want, such as this:

For ballpark food, Boog's BBQ is pretty good.

But, beyond that, its delightful smoke & smell wafting in from Eutaw St. really adds to the delightful ambience of a truly wonderful ballpark.

            But, the crabcakes

Better to have those before or after the game at nearby Faidley's.

I make it to a couple of Washington Nationals games every summer. I'm old-fashoned and prefer a hot dog & beer at the game. Nats Park recently brought in http://benschilibowl.com/, a nice alternative to the bland, soggy hot dogs that the regular vendors sell.

and (4) where the hell is Humphry Slocumbe?  I'll have to find it next season.
Prepare to be asked, "Are you being served?"

The list is really weighted in terms of non-traditional food but for out-of-town fans in some cases it's a chance for exposure to regional products.

Yay.  "Crazy Crab'z" gets all hip with a "z" instead of an "s".  Hopefully someone will smack the owner over the head with a copy of Webster's.  Is the menu written in "textlish" as well?

Dang--I so wanted to see a Nats game when I was visiting the area this past May, but they were on the road.  Maybe I'll get to the real Ben's Chili Bowl in the future.

Apparently you've never shopped at Grace Brothers in London.  Mr. Humphries and Mrs. Slocombe were characters on the classic British comedy "Are You Being Served?".
