Wheel Inn/Sedalia, MO closes, again!!! Mon, 12/9/13 8:03 AM (permalink)
For the second time, the Wheel Inn in Sedalia, MO has closed down.  They were renown for their guberburger,

which puts peanut butter right on the hamburger.  Back in September, I visited the new location (the original location was closed due to highway expansion) for the first time and had a terrific experience.  Over this weekend, I started to write a Roadfood review, only to find they had shut down just a few weeks after my visit.  Very disappointing!  The place was mostly full on my visit, so not really sure what the issue was.  Maybe, once again, someone will come along and save the place.

      Kennyb-
They did do a good job with the interior

of the newer place, including using the simliar color scheme and the old counter.  I guess they just couldn't restore the magic of the original.

That looks like a place I'd love.

The news article specifies that the restaurant was closed for health reasons. I suppose that means the owner was unable to maintain it. Unless that's a euphemism and the board closed them. If it was that, I'm surprised because that can be fixed. Unless it was structural and too expensive to fix. Anyway, it doesn't indicate that the restaurant wasn't successful. I agree it's too bad. Looks like a good place.

That's a great interior design!  If they ever reopen, please let us know.  I want to go there someday.

I see the stool I used to sit on all the time. besides the counter and stools, not much else the same. the old place was all glass and kinda curved with the counter.  just enough room to get around behind the stools.
