Phil Everly has passed away. He & his brother Don had such a great effect on both R&R and County music, and they were inducted into both of those genre's Hall of Fame.

Sad news. I've been thinking of their music lately with the excellent cover of Long Time Gone by Billie Joe Armstrong and Norah Jones.

What a superb Performer...The Everly brothers were favorites of mine, being a product of a 50's childhood. Rest in peace.

R.I.P. Phil.  Their music has always been close to my heart and soul.

Don and Phil lived in Knoxville while I was in high school and their school was just three miles from mine.  I met them a couple of times.  They appeared on local radio and TV while here before they moved on to Nashville.  I really enjoyed their music.

Phil was a very nice guy.  Great taste in barbecue grills as well.  He cooked on a Weber Kettle that I sold him.
                RIP Phil
