Warning labels on hot dogs?

Apparently some people hate hot dogs so much because they're so dangerous, that they want to slap warning labels on them, and are suing to do just that:

I personally think it's a silly idea.

The labels say they have nitrates - if you don't want to ingest nitrates, then don't eat hot dogs.

Please.  The only thing warning labels did to tobacco products is attract more teenagers.

If you don't want to eat nitrates...go to your local German deli hot dog maker...I do.

Ah, German Butcher Shop style hot dogs-  pork and beef with a great snap. They're a thing of the past around here  where there used to be so many such shops.

What is interesting is that none of the manufacturers issued any press releases about this lawsuit. All the noise came from paid press releases of the Cancer Project (animal rights activists.) The AP reported the lawsuit, but never followed up with the manufacturers. Sabrett was also sued.

I don't know what happened. The court may have thrown the lawsuit back at CP. The manufacturers, if they were ever served, may have already sent lawyers seeking to have the suit dismissed as frivilous by the court. Suing just a handful of manufacturers is ludicrous.
