Half & Half

Taverns in Upstate New York often serve a Half & Half sandwich. The sandwich consists of Baked Ham (thinly sliced but enough slices to be about 1/2" thick) Swiss cheese (sliced the same way) on a crusty rye bread with a spicey mustard. I was alway fond of the Half & Half's served by the South End Tavern in Troy. I have not been there in years. If any one know of a good sandwich, I would like to hear of it. Walt

We have half and halfs here in our area, but it consists of a ham and cheese sandwich on one half and a hamburger sandwich on the other side.

Burke's South End Tavern did have a great Half and Half. Was it served on Predigers rye? I also liked the Corned beef sandwhiches at Burke's, it was simple and good.
