I live outside of Boston right now but in about 1 month I will be looking for a spot to setup my Hot Dog cart in or around Fairfield Ohio. Anyone have any ideas?

Of course you will need to check with the city of Fairfield as to where they will allow you to set up, and what permits are required. Here in Peoria, the best spots are around the courthouse square, but they are assigned by an annual drawing. Beyond that I would think, if you could get permission for it, an ideal spot would be in the area around Jungle Jim's International Market, because of the tremendous amount of traffic.

May I humbly invite you to San Francisco? There are hot dog carts all over town but they charge $3.50 for a basic dog. That's out of my price range. I've never understood why they don't have more competition. It's probably something to do with the outfit that owns/runs the current crop of carts making a payoff to the right politicians. This is that kind of town. But I'm pretty sure you could find a way to compete because it's also the kind of town that doesn't very successfully clamp down on individual initiative. And I see Mexican guys pushing those carts selling frozen fruit juice bars a lot and nobody bothers them.

Well I have family and friends in Ohio. I would love to move to a state where it is warm year round and I may still do it. I do like the California.

Less than a month. It was near the deli section across from the olive bar. And they were cooking them there for a couple of bucks. it smelled great.

Was the cart powered by propane? The use of propane indoors is extremely dangerous and the fire department will issue citations and fines for indoor use. Hardware stores cannot store or refill propane tanks within the confines of a building.
