Mashed Potato Soup

My wife and I were in Atlanta this weekend for a family wedding and were invited to the rehearsal dinner at a restaurant called "The Pleasant Peasant". Excellent meal, the shining star of which was the mashed potato soup. It seems like it would be an easy thing to incorporate into an existing potato soup recipe, but has anyone ever heard of a recipe for actual mashed potato soup?

I miss the Peasant restaurants..I used to frequent them when I was living in Atlanta in the 80s.....let me wax nostalgic for a few minutes....

Just make a potato soup and puree it... Seems like it would do the trick...
