Lincoln Park Leon's

I understand there now is a Leon's BBQ outlet near Ashland and Fullerton in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood. Has anyone tried it? How does it compare with the South Side locations?

The reports I have heard about the new Leon's location are not encouraging. There is no smoke coming from the building! Apparently they are bringing the refridgerated ribs up from the southside, and reheating them there. Until you see some smoke, they aren't worth the trip.

But while I am typing, I was meaning to ask you. I will be going up to Evanston in a couple of weeks. I have heard good things about both Hecky's and Merle's. Which do you prefer? Or is there someplace else I should try.

First - let me warn you: I don't eat pork ribs, and I haven't tried the beef ribs at Hecky's. I haven't tried Merle's. I love the chicken at Hecky's. The sauce is super.
