Left over Turkey Sandwiches

The best thing about Thanksgiving is the leftovers.
There is just too much to eat on the Day, but whoa the
sandwiches.

My favorite which I understand someone in Delaware named
the "Whitehorse", is sliced turkey, mayo, stuffing, gravy
and cranberry sauce.

Damn its good.

I guess since we have the cranberry sauce we don't need
the grapes!

What say you llechef and others?:

I always made it without the gravy, and on white bread. My wife and I had a special name for ours. We called it a turkey sandwich.

Left over turkey = cat buffet feast. Can't get rid of it fast enough...

A few years ago, I had a Thanksgiving sandwich in a Boston suburb restaurant for the first time. It was turkey, gravy, stuffing and cranberry relish on white. Delicious. I have tried to reproduce it after every Thanksgiving but never get the balance right. But trying still tastes good.

Not to be a smart alec but mayo is the only thing I like on a turkey sandwich!

Mayo and swiss for me.

Sourdough bread--mayo-turkey---mostly dark meat!-cranberry sauce-stuffing-swiss or pepperjack--or BOTH-Grilled!!!(i use my waffle iron with the reversable plates on the smooth side)

I also grill turkey sandwiches on the George Foreman.....turkey, mayo (SO likes Miracle Whip, bleech), tomato then a piece of lettuce at the end.

I love a turkey sandwich with lettuce, lots of butter, and pepper and salt. Perfect!

It has to be white bread, turkey, yellow mustard (like French's), and lots of salt and pepper. Heavenly.

Hot Panini it....turkey , bacon, cheese, tomato, lettece and perhaps a chilpote mayo.
Ohhh i love pumpkin pie, whipped cream and coffee in the morning

My wife's fab is Turkey-mayo-lettuce-tomato and cream cheese on multigrain bread.--its really pretty good---but i dont eat tomatos in winter so its not on my Thanksgiving leftover list. Then of course there is always---open faced on homestyle white--turkey-stuffing-cranberry saucethin spread on the bread--and all topped with gravy!

Don't eat tomatoes in the winter???? That is your choice but I personally wonder why? Tomatos in the winter are as good as in the summer, spring of fall.

never met a tomato in any season I wouldn't eat....as to the topic,'real'club sandwiches are the order of the day(no 3rd piece of bread).....lotsa mayo(Hellmans),bacon,lettuce,tomato,slab of swiss or provolone.....must use really good bread of which,Publix types are decent(white mountain,5 grain,etc.)

actually,Sundancer,i got tired of pauing outrageous sums for what tastes like soggy red cardboard---i LOVE tomatos!!!!!!--but those winter crop toms are NOT my cup of tea---i prefer to wait till the local ones are back in and use canned toms in nthe winter for cooking. A fresh tomato is thing a beauty and a taste of heaven and i think going without them for a while only serves to make those luscious home grpwn ones even better! Im a "slow fooder"--eat whats in season and truly enjoy what you eat!
