pletzel or onion board in Milwaukee? Tue, 11/30/04 9:25 PM (permalink)
I just read an article in today's NY Times about Rebecca Peltz, who survived the Holocaust and moved to Milwaukee where she introduced pletzel, or onion boards, to the Jewish community there. Apparently it's a Polish version of a bialy. The article did not make clear whether Mrs. Peltz actually had a bakery... but if she did and it's still around... or even if there's somewhere else in town you can get this? My BF, a bakery aficionado, is going home to Milwaukee in a couple of weeks. Can anyone help?
