I just added a new feature to the Roadfood forums that will generate some more conversation - "Active Users". Look at the bottom of the main forum page and you can see who is online. Additionally, http://www.roadfood.com/Forums/active_users.asp will show which topics people are viewing etc. We have a very lively place here!

we should all conspiratorly log in and connect to a lutefisk thread, so like 60 or more of us appear to be reading about lutefisk, and then send the screen capture of the new "active users" page to the admins to prove that interest in lutefisk is very high, and therefore encourage them to review some establishments serving lutefisk. even better if half of us or so appearing to be searching reviews for the term 'lutefisk' :-) same scenario, for wanderingjew: any fast food or mcdonald's thread will do :-)

Sometimes I would like to just lurk. I've tried several times to Log Off and could not do so All I can think of is that someone will see my name and beg for the "ignore function" that was brought up in an earlier post. Most of the time it's far more interesting to me to read what other posters have to say than everyone knowing that I'm on line here.

Not quite, I was working in Photoshop... I leave myself logged in and also on AOL 24/7 to avoid all the sign-in, sign-out stuff. Since i am the only one using the PC I don't worry much about people making fake entries in the Lukefisk Thread using my moniker ! Actually I do shut down if we are leaving the house for awhile, Gotta protect those investments !

I thought I was the only one to use "active topics" to keep my dial up connection going. My internet provider's software terminates the connection in the blink of an eye, but the reload page fools it into thinking someone is actually looking at the screen. My secret is out!

Maybe it's because I have an evil G4 Power Mac. I want a more evil G5.

Posted - 12/17/2004 : 14:22:27 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- so when do we get to message these people directly?? just kidding...I think.... that's the same thing i was wondering...perhaps-- if people want to 'chat live and somewhat in person' with other members they could include their messanger screen names somehow... hmmm guess that would be an individual decision- but i LOVE talking to new people and meeting people from all over. tried to click on the 'email me' link on someone's name (on the members online section) and it didn't do anything.. not sure if i did something wrong or not... anyway-- what do you think 'bout including messanger names???? just wondering.. ~~jerseygirl127~~

Try as I might, I was unable to find a Lutefisk thread. A sad day in the Quiet Corner of Connecticut. I live in hope. Merry Christmas to all!

the sadly departed i-95 was the one who maintained the Luktfisk connection. you might find it filed under his member button. Cheers, John
