I agree with all the above! But breakfast at Brennan's is kind of special. In many, many trips to NOLA I can honestly say I never had a bad meal.

I urge everyone visiting to take a day and visit the surrounding towns. You won't regret it. Some fine eats abound. Broken Egg Cafe on the Northshore in Mandeville La Madeleine French Bakery, either the one in Harahan or Mandeville Abita Springs Cafe-Abita Springs Bella Matina-Covington Annadele’s Plantation-Covington Longbranch-Abita Springs Country Kitchen-Mandeville Vianne's Tea Salon and Cafe-Mandeville Cafe 59-Mandeville Louie and the Red-Head Lady-Mandeville Courtyard Cafe-Covington Dot's Diner-Boutte All of these are on the Northshore or River Parishes. More in Mandeville obviously but I live there so I eat more in that area.

Their hot chocolate is also very good. People watching there is very good is you got a sidewalk view. I genuinely love that place. Their menu ain't complicated but at the right time, it is wonderful. I sincerely love and enjoy being there very early in the morning. I suppose late at night is better for people watching but I am not a real good late person. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN I recommend you take just a moment on your next visit to stroll around the back to watch them make the donuts. Do it after you have eaten so the almost black oil doesn't put you off.
