Pete's Roast Beef

Pete's Roast Beef in Woburn, MA (right of 95) is the BOMB!! If you could change their name of their 3-way, it would be called, awesome, awesome, awesome. Their subs are insane!! They are huge and come on braided subs (like Bob's in Medford). Oh, don't even think about leaving until you have tried their homemade baklava! Now, I am just an American guy...but let me tell you, I have had my share of baklava...and theirs is awesome! Pete's mom makes it. "Hey Pete's mom, do you want another son."

Is Walts Roast Beef still around. It was a chain in RI. CT and MA. They used the cheapest cut of meat but sliced it very thin on a toasted buttered roll. Like Arbys but with real beef.

Yes Walt's is still very much around. I believe they are based here in RI. I haven't seen them in Connecticut, or Massachusetts (with th exception of Suburban Providence ie (Seekonk and the Attleboros). It's a good quick fix! www.waltsroastbeef.htmlplanet.com/

I agree Pete's is great-I live not far from their location.
For another great place close to Woburn, try Londi's on Rt 62 in Burlington for their Super Beef and Onion Rings:

Arby's used only the best beef not the BS that your broke local roast beef joint uses.

Arby's roast beef has a sort of "flaked and formed" texture and is far too salty. It may have started out as good beef but something happened to it on the way to the sandwich. At least, that's the way it tastes at the Arby's in our area.

No salt is ever put into our beef. The only thing that happens to it before it gets to your sandwhich is that it is sliced using a meat slicer after it has been slow cooked and tempered and all that good stuff.I'll admit some arby's can be trashy but thats because the employess aren't doing their job correctly.
