HAROLD'S without a doubt... The best Brunswick stew in the state. The building and the staff still seem to be old-school, hardcore BBQ folk. Pure Georgia country types. The place is only open till a bit after 7pm. Also, it's in a dodgey part of town. However, the cops are always eating there, and the owners all pack heat.

My husband and I were just in Atlanta in December. When we asked our Mariott shuttle driver where we could get some good barbecue, she took us to the Barbecue Kitchen. It is a meat and 3 type of place. Very good and cheap. Since she drove us in the shuttle bus, all I can tell you is that it is very close to the airport. It was near a Waffle House and a Holiday Inn. Would go there again in a heartbeat. I don't know how many days you will be there but definitely get yourself over to the Silver Skillet for breakfast. Another place we can't wait to get back to.
