I'd kill for a Devil Dog. They're not available here.

We don't have Drake's either, and, very little Hostess. Little Debbie pretty much rules here.

Heck, I have a Hostess outlet within a mile of my house, but, although their bags include the Drake's logo, they don't carry any Drake's products. The people who work there have never even heard of Drake's.

Good news......you do not have to kill for one. You can mail order them.

I don't know when you last had one, but if it has been a while, you may be disappointed when you get them. They aren't what they used to be.

Ohhhhh, FUNNY BONES!!!!!!!! My mom sent me a care package a few months ago and all it was was two boxes of Funny Bones taped together a wrapped in Brown paper! Cue the clouds parting and angels weeping. There was rejoicing in the House of Billyboy. I live in NYC and have found them here only sporadically. Though I have a Duane Reade down the street with a killer stash of Tastycakes. Oh well, one gets by. as best one can

                                Little Debbie----YUCK! Way too sweet.
I'd be losing weight real fast if Little Debbie is all we have in our area. In Northern VA, we have a few Drakes: Devil Dogs (great frozen, BTW), Ring Dings, Yodels, Coffee Cakes, Fruit Pies, Funnybones. NO Yankee or Sunny Doodles.
We also have Tastee Cake and Hostess and Entemann's.

Frogger, you're right about Little Debbies. Growing up in New England, all the other kids had Drakes and Hostess, but they were a rare treat in my house. Devil Dogs were my favorite until they came out with Funny Bones, but in the school room Twinkies, Yodels and Hostess Cupcakes led the pack. (Imagine a typical 60s RI bag lunch: Fluffernutter, coffee milk and Twinkies. No wonder there was teacher burn-out!)

Little Debbie showed up, usually in convenience stores, as a cheap alternative. I guess my Dad had had them in the South and picked them up a couple of times. Even as a 6 year-old who ate sugar straight they were too sweet for me.

Little Debbie does have those oatmeal cream cookies. If the cream wasn't so sweet, I'd eat those quite often.

As a kid in the early 60's on Long Island, Drake's delivered fresh Devil Dogs to our elementary school every day. They were in wax paper sleeves, OPEN on one end! A nickel apiece.
Today I guess they would have to send them through a metal detector and have Homeland Security do a background check on the driver.
Which they would thoroughly mess up.
