So the IHOP invasion of cincinnati continues. My son and i went to the grand opening of the Beechmont location. Pancakes were fantastic as always.

The one thing I hope gets better at the IHOPS here is the speed of the service. All three locations we have eaten in town have been sloooooooow. With a 2 year old that has to change so we will continue to eat there.

Anyone else tried IHOPs in Cincy yet?

I didn't know there were any IHOPs in Ohio. There were two in Columbus back in the early 1970s, but they've been gone forever.

Ihop is returing to cincinnati with a vengance. They are all corporate owened stores and they will use Cincinnati as a test market for new stuff. 3 locations are already open with a reported 20 or so more to open in the next few years.

We ate at the Beechmont location tonight. I didn't find it to be terribly expensive, but the food was decent. I had crepes stuffed with egg, cheese, bacon, sausage and ham. They came with a side of pancakes. My wife had a ham and cheese crepe and could only finish one of them. Normally I can do a pretty good job of cleanup, but I was pretty well stuffed by my own dinner. My daughter and father in law enjoyed the meal also, so it gets a thumbs up as a possibility for an early weekend dinner. I also grabbed a couple of carryout menus since I just work about ten minutes from Anderson and IHOP is open 24 hrs. FINALLY!

The good thing about IHOP is they serve real butter on their pancakes. So much better than the margarine at Waffle House for example. Also, IHOP serves pumpkin pancakes, in the fall only however. They're really good. Don't know about the rest of the food they serve. When I go to IHOP it's for the pancakes: 10 silver dollars pancakes dripping in real butter, uummm.

The wife loves pancakes, and had been begging me to take her to the newly opened Beechmont IHOP so she could try theirs out. I was skeptical, but took her anyway.

Pancakes were not very good and were also very, very small - about the size of a child's meal pancake anywhere else.

I had a crepe, thought it was unspectacular.

We both had gastointestinal problems for a few days after eating there - nothing serious, just a lot of heartburn and such.

Wife chalked it up to the newness of the place and says she wants to give it a couple of months before returning.

Need to try the Harvest Grain Nut pancakes. Forget the regular ones.

Michael, there's been an IHOP in my hometown lakewood, Ohio for about two years now.
The residents fought tooth and nail against it, due to the hours and traffic, etc. but IHOP won.
                  never been there though.

I've eaten at two of the Cincinnati IHOPs and have found the service terrible at both of them.
The regular pancakes and specialty ones are bad, but I agree the Harvest grain ones are good.
It took me two times sending my bacon back, just to get it cooked to a brown color. The kid serving said he gets that request a lot!
But what really bothered me at both of the restaurants, out back, were semi trailers that were being used as refrigeration! Don't these places have refrigeration built in?
I'll try once more before I write them off, but these IHOPs are just not what the old ones were.

Forgot about the detached refrigerated semi trailer parked out back at the Beechmont location.....yeah, that's just weird.

I've eaten at IHOP all my life, there is several in Fresno but the one on Blackstone between Shields and Dakota is the best, IMHO. Out here on the right coast we have a couple about 12 & 15 miles away. Ava really like 'em and so does PP. One is right across the street from Costco so we go about once a month. PP loves the banana nut pancakes with banana syrup, hold the nuts.
