Japanese in Chicago......

One of my absolute favorite japanese resturaunts in Chicago is "Starfish" @ about 800 Randolph St. If you're with someone who doesn't fancy Japanese cuisine, they also serve some A+ steaks. Their fish is flown in daily, which is probably why it's a bit pricey.......but WELL, WELL worth it!!!!!! #1 for sure

We used to love a place called Matsuya, on Clark Street about a block south of Wrigley Field. The portions were huge and the price was very low. For around $8.95, you got Miso soup, vegetable and shrimp tempura, beef or chicken teriyaki and a dish of vanilla ice cream. I haven't been there in a few years. Has anyone else been there recently? I'll take a trip back some time and report whether the food and prices remain so good.
