mom & pop revisited

i have been gone for a few days, and upon returning, see posts i believe i may be responsible for have raised the ire of some. being a rookie i didn't realize using a word "bozo" would create a problem with those "old-timers" i seem to have offended. if so, i am truely sorry. perhaps this site should be a forum for those interested in national chains and i came to this site in error. if any one can steer me to a site where like-minded folk could discuss the unique and special traits of the restaurants jane & michael write about i would like to go there again sorry i didn't fit in.

It wasn't your post that *I* had an issue with, though name calling tends to be frowned upon here. I was trying to express to the moderators that the abuse that you took was unacceptable, and they agreed with me. You will find that most folks here DO like to talk about regional and/or independent restaurants (mom and pop, if you like). There are just some others here who feel that because the government has granted them some sort of freedom of expression that it gives them the right to do/say/post whatever/wherever they want -- no matter if it is appropriate or not. Now...I am off in search of food, in a relatively unfamiliar section of Long Island. I assure you, wherever I choose to go, I will be passing a TGI Fridays to get there! Steve
