made-up burgers

growing up in the 50's & early 60's, we didn't have a mc donalds in our town (at least i never knew of one) what we did have was a sandy's, which over the years, i've been told is now whattaburger. my brother and a friend of his worked there with a kid, last name bundy. he came up with a sandwich with two burger patties, three slices of cheese, & pickles on white bread he buttered and toasted on the grill. to this day, we wonder about bundy, and his "DOUBLE BUNDY" a memorable sandwich indeed.

As far as I know, the Sandy's were all bought out by Hardee's. (We had the first Sandy's in Peoria, IL.) However, the website with the most information on Sandy's is: http://www.geocities.com/sandyshamburgers/ You might want to get in contact with the guy who has this site and see if he might have any information for you about Bundy. (The contact information is on the site.) Good luck in your search.
