Being from the East Coast going to Carl's Jr was a real Treat for me none here in Upstate NY, same Goes for Sonic. I love that they make it when you order it. That's pretty tight.

Carl's Jr. = Hardee's. Some OK, Some Not. B & G Bowls are a good 'hit n run' in the morning. Sonic's Slushes are good.

OK, but I can't see it. Maybe familiarity does breed contempt as the saying goes, but Carl's Jr. seems to me to be a very ordinary chain burger joint and I avoid the nearest branch since it's not only pretty much a hangout for homeless folks on a corner that functions as a drug supermarket, but they treat everyone as if they were about to rob the joint. If you're visiting the west coast, find an In 'N Out for a real treat (burger chain wise).

No Hardees here any more either, but I never ate in one of those anyways.

the $.99 green chile burger is worth a stop, and the breakfast burrito is OK, but most of ours in Oregon seem positioned right by Jack in the Boxes, and that's no contest. It's Jack for the kids and me.

Other than 'In & Out Burger' (which we don't have near me), 'Jack-In-The-Box' is my second favorite fast food hamburger here in California. 'Carl's Jr' just doesn't assemble their burgers very well. Sloppy, falling apart, big chunks of the core lettuce. Some of their ads actually point these faults out as 'features'. Not for me. Dino

Get me $5 worth of the Jack-in-the-Box deep-fried Tacos and my Fast Food quota for a day will be fulfilled. (2/99cents)

Carl's JR 40 years ago was more like In & Out Burger is today. 40 years ago we had more Carl's Jr's in Orange County (CA) than we did McDonald's. We even had a Carl's SR, a sit down restaurant in Anaheim. Saddly, Carl's Jr is no longer what it use to be and I'll drive by on my way to In & Out or Fat Burger

I agree...... Carl's Jr. just does'nt seem to be what it used to be.... during a 15 year span of having a "famous star with cheese" in Southern CA, they seem to be slipping a little more on taste each time........mostly, that good charbroiled taste is not there as much........and it's a myth that each burger is made fresh...the last few I had certainly did'nt taste like they were......... like the other poster said, it also depends on the location...some may be more attentive than others, in making sure the burgers are fresh, and charred but, I happen to really like their choc. chip cookies they have for dessert........perfect taste, not too sweet......but , oops, I just drifted to the "dessert" forum with that remark ! from Ellen in Egg Harbor Township, NJ
