Great Crab Sandwich south of San Francisco

In the summer of 2001, I worked in downtown San Francisco and lived in Pacifica down the coast. My favorite thing to do on Saturday or Sunday for lunch (sometimes both!) was to walk down Fassler Ave. down to Nick's Rockaway for one of their great crab sandwiches. The sandwich is served on toasted sourdough and is a very hearty sandwich. It is made kind of like a crab salad, but just the right amount of mayo. Their mixture really brings out the flavor of the crab. A slice of tomato sits atop the crab in the bread, but doesn't overpower the flavors of everything else. It is served with fries and slaw, but I believe you can substitute a salad or fruit salad. For $13.95, it really hit the spot and wasn't nearly as much as some of the other seafood options. I have had the Cod there as well, but that wasn't all that impressive.
The service is always really friendly and prompt. If there is room, they will always accomodate a request for a booth with an ocean view. It is located at Hwy 1 and Fassler Ave at the southern end of Pacifica, right on the ocean. For anyone vacationing in or going through the Bay Area, it is worth the stop. At least for the view! I wish I could go back tomorrow.
