Good Sandwich in San Diego

The best sandwiches I have found in San Diego so far are at The Philadelphia Sandwich company on Convoy in Linda Vista and the Gaglione brothers sandwich shop in Point Loma. Any other people found somewhere good in San Diego?

You might try D.Z. Akins on Alvarado Road by SDSU. It’s a Jewish style deli with a hundred different sandwich options. It’s also great for breakfast. Be prepared to wait almost anytime you go. There’s a newcomer called Capriotti's Sandwich Shop on University in Hillcrest. I tried their Philly Steak and it was good. These sandwiches can get big and pricey, but they are good.

capriotti's is incredible -- its a mini-chain that started in the philly burbs/delaware. get the "bobbie" -- the best turkey with cranberry and stuffing hoagie I've had around. http://www.capriottis.com/

Wow, Capriotti's has gone coast to coast. First Las Vegas, now San Diego.

OK maybe it is me, but I just dont get why people think DZ Akins is that good. I find their food to be mediocre at best. Maybe it is my East Coast roots. Point Loma Seafood is Great! Having said that,If you are looking for a good sandwich (and Cheap too!) find a Banh Mi. They are on a crunchy bread with meat, cilantro, serrano peppers, carrots These are Vietnamese sandwiches that are out of this world. Two places that I like are Sorrento European bakery on Mira Mesa Blvd and Ba LE in Linda Vista. The typical Banh mi sandwich is $3 or less. You can also look in the RoadFood forum on sandwiches for more Banh Mi info....Enjoy

DZ Akins has a lot of different sandwiches, there's also a Philly Cheesteak place in Kearny Mesa thats good: The Philadelphia Sandwich Co. I guess because San Diego doesn't have enough real good sandwich places, only the SubWay, Submarina, Quiznos, et al. We're more tacos and burgers I guess.
