anyone know how to find out new restaurant opening

i like to know the quickest way possible before a restaurant opens in your state? what state department do i check with?

Probably check with the Health Dept. considering this is public information.. Though the list may include caterers, concession stands, special events, etc...

state sales tax office would know also, but wether they will give out the info on who applied for id, is the question. know any hackers? also, there should be a license office, but i think thats for each locale.

Make friends with commercial real estate brokers. They'll know before almost anyone else because the site selection has to be completed before the filings and build-out begins. Location, location. Also, some states (like CA) require advance public notice if alcohol is going to be served. Watch the legal notice section in the newspaper for filings and ficticious business names.
