Check out the two websites, Hardees.com and carlsjr.com they are identical except for the name. I think they are the same company, ala Checkers and Rally's.

I dare anyone to eat a Double Six Dollar Burger from Carl Jr's. Imagine a sandwich with 110 grams of fat.

Much to the major improvement of Hardees's I might add! They are improving their stores gradually area by area and serving greatly improved burgers. I'd even venture to say that Hardee's are the best of the major chain burgers out there right now (not counting In 'N Out, Fatburger and a couple other smaller chains).

I haven't eaten at Hardees in a long time. The ones in this area closed down. I remember about 6 or more years ago driving by a Hardees, and they'd be dead as a door nail. I predicted they'd eventually close, and sure enough they did.

I remember eating at Hardees back in the early 90's. They had a self-service bar where you could top your burger yourself. I'm guessing that was left over from good ole Burger Chef. Of course they got rid of it. Anyways, Hardees was higher quality in those days than recently. The last few times I ate there the burgers had a funny taste to them.

One thing I really despised Hardees for was destroying Burger Chef and Roy Rogers. We had both of them on one street, so when Burger Chef became Hardees, Roy Rogers became a bank. Actually, I'm lucky to live farely close to a Roy Rogers. It is the only one in Ohio and happens to be in the Cincinnati area.

Hamburgler, agree with you regarding Hardee's. I'll admit nostalgia for Burger Chef, but I hate Hardee's for replacing the Trigger Burger (best of the national chains at the time, according to Counsumer Reports) with something that actually tasted like Trigger. Fortunately, in the Northeast I have to travel to boycott Hardee's/Carl's

BTW - "Dare" to eat a Carl's or Hardee's artery clogger? The Department of Conspiracy and Rumor has determined that these sandwiches were developed with the express purpose of killing off frat boys who will invariably and repeatedly accept such challenges.

Yep, the Hardee's down here in Mobile converted to the Carl's Jr star sign in the fall of 2004. The 6 Dollar burger was the first cArl's Jr style to be introduced, they also had a porkchop sandwich....after I got back from deployment, the Hardee's had all gone to the Angus Thick Burgers, but the stores themselves are a mish mash of old Brown and Orange Hardee's style colors and Carl's Jr Bright Red and Yellows

Ok. I've actually had a TRIPLE. A few times. They're pretty good. In fact, I'll probably have another when I go in today!

Almost. Actually, it's CKE Inc (formerly Carl Karcher Enterprises Inc.) which owns both. Carl Karcher originally founded Carl's Jr.

still not sure why this thread hasn't moved to the FFF forum.
