Does anyone remember these when they came in little cans? I used to take one to school for lunch every day in the late 70's, early 80's. I've seen them more recently in plastic packages, but I wonder if you can still get the canned kind anywhere.

Look in my grandmother's pantry. I don't think she ever throws away anything.

you'll see the canned pudding snacks right next to the canned pringles.

My Mom would occasionally buy these in the 70's....if you happened to have one in lunch, the morning couldn't go fast enough as you eagerly awaited opening that artificially flavored slice of chocolate nirvana! Well, I guess when you're 8, you tend to think that way.....

My mother thought the cans were too dangerous for kids to open.

If they were around today, I might buy one just for the nostalgia, but wouldn't make a habit of it. There are plenty of puddings out there with much higher quality and better ingredients. But there was something about that artificially-flavored chocolate that was nirvana, as one of you noted.

Try here: A "Jello Museum" http://www.jellomuseum.com/

BTW, does anyone remember the "3 in 1" or 3 layer Jello back in the 70's or 80's? It seperated itself into 3 layers?

Thanks - that's more than I ever wanted or needed to know about Jello!
